Hypocrisy is part of the political process.

The Left has been swirling around the notion that these outbursts against ObamaCare are fueled by the eeeeevil pharmaceutical companies who see the Obama plan as a threat against their bottom line.

Drug Industry to Run Ads Favoring White House Plan
By DAVID D. KIRKPATRICK
NYTimes.com

WASHINGTON — The drug industry has authorized its lobbyists to spend as much as $150 million on television commercials supporting President Obama’s health care overhaul, beginning over the August Congressional recess, people briefed on the plans said Saturday.

The unusually large scale of the industry’s commitment to the cause helps explain some of a contentious back-and-forth playing out in recent days between the odd-couple allies over a deal that the White House struck with the industry in June to secure its support. The terms of the deal were not fully disclosed. Both sides had announced that the drug industry would contribute $80 billion over 10 years to the cost of the health care overhaul without spelling out the details.

With House Democrats moving to extract more than that just as the drug makers finalized their advertising plans, the industry lobbyists pressed the Obama administration for public reassurances that it had agreed to cap the industry’s additional costs at $80 billion. The White House, meanwhile, has struggled to mollify its most pivotal health industry ally without alienating Congressional Democrats who want to demand far more of the drug makers. White House officials could not immediately be reached for comment. (more…)

Let’s see…how will this be spun?

Rrrrrraaacism!

Paul Krugman for the NY Times~

Now, people who don’t know that Medicare is a government program probably aren’t reacting to what President Obama is actually proposing. They may believe some of the disinformation opponents of health care reform are spreading, like the claim that the Obama plan will lead to euthanasia for the elderly. (That particular claim is coming straight from House Republican leaders.) But they’re probably reacting less to what Mr. Obama is doing, or even to what they’ve heard about what he’s doing, than to who he is.

That is, the driving force behind the town hall mobs is probably the same cultural and racial anxiety that’s behind the “birther” movement, which denies Mr. Obama’s citizenship.

Cynthia Tucker on MSNBC (h/t: newsbusters.com)

CHRIS MATTHEWS: Put 100 of these people in a room. Strap them into gurneys. Inject them with sodium pentathol. How many of them would say “I don’t like the idea of having a black president”? What percentage?

CYNTHIA TUCKER: Oh, I’m just guessing. This is just off the cuff. I think 45 to 65% of the people who appear at these groups are people who will never be comfortable with the idea of a black president.

Here, Tucker is pulling “demographics” out of her behind. Why? Because both her and Matthews do not have a sound argument worth mentioning.

Here’s another one.

NEGRO, PLEASE!
That’s my N-word for you and your dumb analysis.

When Obama was trailing Hillary, the left questioned his “Blackness” (because of his mixed race). Now that he is in office, the left embraces his Blackness and uses it as a battling ram.

I like Stevie and the title was fitting. So the picture stays (lol).

 Another circle to square
