Some Great Shots from our Flickr Group (12/29/11)
on December 29th, 2011 at 7:51 amThe group I am referring to is the African-American Photographers group on Flickr (“Yours truly” is the admin).
We have been getting some great entries lately as members are really starting to step up their game. Great work all around.
I am also pleased to inform you that unlike some similar groups, we have greatly reduced “skank” entries (I said from day one I wanted this to be a group that even a child could come and be safe from sexually-explicit photography). A few people fought me on it, but the majority were very supportive. I just got so tired of seeing similar groups were many of the pictures were of women in sexually explicit poses. Nothing wrong with a bathing suit, but come on! Some of this was way over the top.
For this coming year, we are going to start picking random themes. I tried it before, but it never caught on.
