#Why continue to beat up on Specter?
I look at politics just as I look at sports.
When an athlete begins his career, its all about winning one for the team and representin’ his home town. By the time they hit the pros, its all about the best contract. Like all other politicians, Specter is simply trying to stay in the game with the team that has the greatest momentum. The people in PA kept him in the game in the first place. Now they are mad when he acts like a politician.

#Something I wrote in Facebook last night: “159 people WORLDWIDE so far have died from the swine flu. 239 folks got shot or stabbed just in the LA area alone so far this year. Does that mean I have to run out and buy a bulletproof vest to protect myself?”
Mind you, the “swine flu” has been around since the 70′s.

OBAMA: “We began by passing a Recovery Act that has already saved or created over 150,000 jobs.” — from news conference.
THE FACTS: This assertion is dubious on several levels. For starters, the U.S. has lost more than 1.2 million jobs since Obama took office, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Even if Obama’s stimulus bill saved or created as many jobs as he says, that number is dwarfed by the number of recent job losses.
“Mr. President, Mr. President!”

“What percentage of these jobs are affiliated with the union?”
“And may I also ask sir, back in March, Jeffrey Simon, Director of Infrastructure Investment in Massachusetts, told The Associated Press regarding the stimulus payout “The federal estimate of 79,000, we really don’t know what’s behind that, we just plain don’t,” Massachusetts Undersecretary of Administration and Finance Jay Gonzalez told the AP “We have no idea where that number came from and now we’re going to be measured against it…They haven’t even decided yet how they are going to require that we measure new and retained jobs.”
“How then, sir are you measuring 150,000 saved or created jobs?”
