Position Description
Foot Soldiers Supervisor – For Immediate Hire
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• MUST HAVE a clean non expired NYS Drivers License
• MUST HAVE a reliable cell phone
• MUST HAVE a health physical from a physician
• MUST be able to lift and operate large and sometimes heavy cleaning equipment (including snow blowers). Must be comfortable with shoveling snow and providing cleaning services when necessary.
PREFERRED TANGIBLE ITEMS, QUALITIES, SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES, & ACHIEVEMENTS:
• HAVE a reliable vehicle with up-to-date registration and insurance
• Proven Staff management leadership ability and the skills to manage relationships and p
• Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills
• Detail oriented, services must be rendered with professionalism and quality
• Proven ability to work independently and completely finish assignments
• Have at least a high school diploma or GED
TIME REQUIREMENT: P\T – Typically 10-20 hours per week 4:30PM – 8:00 3 days per week Sun-Fri. Time is subject to change during the winter season; Supervisor must be on call and available during our Snow Removal periods from 7AM – 9PM. During the snow season PR-G’s management staff is required to play a role in snow any day of the week between 7:00AM and 9:00PM (pending snow fall).
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervise Staff. Work on-site at neighborhood program locations to support and supervise teens using Work Performance system. Hold teens accountable to service standards and policies in executing their duties and maintaining productive relationships with community residents, homeowners, and other community stakeholders. Conduct teen evaluations.
• Manage daily service operations. Work on-site at service locations to direct movement and tracking of teens, supplies and equipment. Maintain visible presence in community to ensure that teens are able to conduct their work safely, and on schedule with adequate supplies and services.
• Assist in the development of service staff through Training. Provide input on development and refinement of service and teen training to meet service goals and reflect feedback from staff, parents, homeowners, and community stakeholders. Train senior teens to train new teens.
• Other responsibilities. Assume other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed by the Foot Soldiers Service Coordinator and Director of Programs.
COMPENSATION: $10/hr + we provide a vehicle. Supervisors are encouraged to use a personal vehicle and receive up to $60 weekly fuel and up to $50 monthly vehicle maintenance reimbursements.
FOOT SOLDIERS: A street maintenance service that stipends neighborhood teens to provide homeowners in the Bed-Stuy, Crown Heights, and Clinton Hill areas of Brooklyn, NY, with yard sweeping, garbage removal and snow shoveling services. The program uniquely links the stipends teens earn to their academic achievements, job readiness trainings, household responsibilities, physical activities, personal development workshops, and community projects.
