If we are to get mad at this story where welfare recipients are spending money in places like Vegas and the Caribbean…

Georgia (video)

“An official with the Georgia Department of Human Services told CBS Atlanta that federal laws do not restrict how or where recipients of welfare cash assistance can spend those benefits.

The surprising explanation came after an exclusive CBS Atlanta investigation revealed welfare recipients used about a million dollars out-of-state, including at popular vacation spots like Las Vegas, California and the Virgin Islands.
Rachelle Carnesale, director of the Division of Family and Children Services, admitted to CBS Atlanta that she did not know welfare dollars were spent in these places.

“I can’t say as a taxpayer I’m happy to hear that,” said Carnesale. “That said I don’t know any of the specifics in terms of whether an ATM was used there or services were purchased.”

Documents obtained by CBS Atlanta detail every withdraw and expenditure made in 2010 by welfare recipients who receive cash assistance. According to CBS Atlanta’s calculations, more than $50 million was used by beneficiaries of the state’s TANF program last year. TANF stands for Temporary Assistance For Needy Families. Records show $1 million was spent out-of-state.
Thousands of dollars were spent in California, Las Vegas and New York, according to the documents. They also revealed Georgia’s welfare recipients used nearly $600 in Puerto Rico and $520 in St. Croix, Virgin Islands.”

…then we also need to look at the biggest welfare scheme in history. So big, it had to be supported by two presidents: Bush and Obama.

Or how about the bailout to the big three?

As much as people would like to try, one does not nullify the other. When someone tells us that our money will be spent one way when it is being spent another way, that is wrong…period.
