on October 15th, 2009 at 1:33 pmNEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) — The White House unveiled Thursday the first hard data on how many jobs the $787 billion recovery act has created.
So far, 30,383 jobs have been created by companies that have gotten $2.2 billion worth of stimulus contracts directly from the federal government. That equates to $71,500 per job based on just the funds that have been distributed.
These firms have been awarded a total of $16 billion. (more…)
How many jobs were lost last monthly.
“Around 514,000 people filed new claims for unemployment last week, down from a revised 524,000 in the previous week. Economists expected 520,000 new claims.”
So $2 billion dollars created a little over 30,000 jobs.
What percentage of these were union jobs and how are they defining “created”?
With politics, you have to ask these type of annoying questions.
