RALEIGH, North Carolina – Leaders of historically black colleges say they’ll fight a reduction in a federal program they call a financial lifeline at a time of economic distress for the schools and their students.
President Barack Obama’s education budget, unveiled Thursday, included major spending increases in many areas — but didn’t include an extra $85 million that black institutions have received annually for the past two years thanks to a 2007 change to the student loan laws.

People who are trippin’ over this really do not understand what the true nature of poltics.
Do you remember back in ’07 when illegal immigration was the hot issue? Those who did not completely understand the complexities of this issue immediately made it soley about race by calling the pro LEGAL immigration crowd “racists”. In the meantime, those on the right were puzzled why the Republican party (starting with Bush) would not take a forceful stance against illegal immigration.
Allow me to put it in caps and big letters for you:
IT IS ALL ABOUT VOTES!!
The influx of illegals crossing our border is a goldmine of votes for elected officials. Why? Because most of them cannot speak our language (#1). Also, most of them do not understand how the US government works, so their expectancy for the government is lower than those of us who are legal citizens and understand our government.
Remember how folks thought is was wrong for us to require citizens (illegal/legal) to speak English? While the sheeple were bleating the line “It’s just unfair and racist to require them to know English” , politicians were providing the background music. For the politician, the dumber the constituency, the better. Why? Because once these individuals understand English, that means they will have the ability to learn how government works. With that understanding, they will then be able to go beyond displays of pandering and actually hold politicians accountable for their actions.
Compared to the huge influx of Hispanics crossing our borders illegally, the value of the Black voter has become stagnant. So it completely makes sense from a political perspective pander more to Hispanics. The Black voter has been bought and paid for by the Democratic party. Pandering to us is now only required during the election cycle.
So its sad to me when I see or hear folks trying to sell me the idea that Obama is a “brutha”. To me, he is just a politician.
Know the difference.
