That Panting You Hear Isn’t Coming From Conservatives

I’m still amazed that the most “incompetent” person in the political universe is getting so much attention from the Left and Progressives (got to include them, too). CNN had a digitized map the other day outlining her book tour, the AP has reportedly assigned 11 reporters to “fact check” the book, even though it did not do the same for Obama’s book “Dreams From My Father”. Even all over the Internet I am seeing both bloggers and people on Facebook feeling the need to chime in on Palin and her book (even though most of them probably never picked up the thing in the first place).

Here’s an Obama campaign director standing in line (wristband and all) waiting to get his copy of “Going Rogue” signed by the former Governor of Alaska.

GRAND RAPIDS — (mlive.com) Robert Burack, of Redford, has a confession. He’s a self-professed “big liberal,” and even served as Midwest high school director for the Obama campaign.

So why did he spend the night for a chance to meet Sarah Palin?

“I think she’s fascinating,” he said, sitting for the day with his wristband. “I don’t understand everything she thinks, but she’s just so intriguing. I don’t agree with her on the issues, but I really like her as a person.” (more…)

This is like triple teaming the total nerd on the other team (you know, the one that uses duct tape to hold his glasses together) while trying to tell everybody that he is not a scoring threat.

And before someone goes there, this is not due to a slow news cycle. There is just way too much going on right now between the health care debate, Obama’s Asian trip, unemployment rate going up, the terrorist trials in NYC, aftermath of the Fort Hood shootings for this to be just some extra curricular news coverage.

Now is Palin pure as the driven snow when it comes to questionable politics? I seriously doubt it. However, what I am starting to believe is that because her background does not include the extensive relationships with those within the D.C. power structure, she does pose a serious threat to “politics as usual”.

While I will forever have a general respect for women everywhere, I have lost all respect for self-describing feminists who have sat by the sidelines in silence while Palin’s femininity has been ridiculed and joked about by many of the same people who whine about how women are not treated fairly. Nothing wrong with disagreeing with someone on the issues, but the name-calling and degradation of her womanhood by her critics is just beyond insulting (just do a Google image search). Plus, no word from ANY feminist group on how the AP has assigned 11 reporters to “fact check” her book while men on the campaign trail apparently got a complete pass.

This whole thing has less to do with Left vs. Right and more to do with connections. Again, you never pay attention to a person if they are truly irrelevant and non-threatening. Why seek to discredit a person whom you say lacks creditability?

Amen to the commentary. What is a “high school director for the Obama campaign”?
