Just a question to Blacks as well as Hispanics… why do they allow these people to have a platform and speak for them as a group?

When I, see or hear Jessy Jackson or Al Sharpton on T.V. I, roll my eyes. The Sharpton’s of the world all they do is promote speeches of “race, discrimination…” everywhere in order to make themselves more important.

Where was Jessy Jackson or Al Sharpton or the local Los Angeles Civil Rights Leader/Attorney Leo Terrell when a young teen ager name Jamiel Shaw was gunned down by an illegal Alien from Centro America this year? I believe that the tragedy made National news when it happened. It broke my heart to hear on the radio Jamiel’s Dad talk about his son’s death just few steps from his home by an Illegal Alien. There is a law in progress called Jamiel’s Law as result of this incident? Again, this is not the NFL but where were these people outraged during this National incident….

My honest opinion is that most of the Black Civil Right Leaders are racist themselves and cannot see beyond their “black color glasses”…. Instead of “pink color glasses” theirs are always “Black” and will always see race in everything specially… if anyone disagrees with them …unless exchange of money or political favors are involve.

If I was a black person I will stand up and just simple say “Shut Up and you do not speak for me!”

I listen to Rush Limbaugh and yes, he is given Barack Obama a hard time but also, we might not forget what the left did to George Bush for 8 years. Also, whether you agree or disagree with Rush or FOX Cable the press did very little to address any issues with Obama during the election. Many things are coming out about Obama and his relationships now… and I can honestly tell you that if he were Black, Blue or Red… if we knew then, what we know about Obama’s past he will not be elected President of the USA. If we knew how really “left” he was… he will not be elected president today.

Just like Ted Kennedy could have never been president either. Yes, again… the liberal left loves the Kennedys and they also cannot do wrong. It is a little bit disgusting how the media treated Obama just as well as they treat and treated the under serving Kennedys… ask no questions , laugh and forgive them for everything… because again…it is in their DNA because, they are a Kennedy…” just for that they are great people and great politicians!

This is America. If Rush just like Al Sharpton want to buy a football team let it be! More power to Rush or anyone who would like to own a Football team or any business. Now, Rush is very competive and likes to win. If he let a non performing player go from the team (assuming that the deal gets approve)…any player red, white or black is…because just that…low performance and not race. If the deal goes through I predict that the Jacksons or Sharpton of the world will add the “race card” to any decision made by the owner of the team and I mean Rush Limbaugh…

Individual Blacks need to stand up and speak up against these people so, call “Black Leaders” that are helping prolong these stereo types about blacks themselves. The Individual blacks the attorney, the teacher, the sport newscaster, the painter, the doctors, the home maker, the athlete, the musician…the writer…

That is just my opinion. Again, I am “me” and not a group or block of mindless Hispanics. I too roll my eyes when I see the Villarosa’s of the world calling me…”The Latinos-as…”

Go Rush and make those players as wealthy as you. Give them speeches of success, of individual responsibility, America and the pride of being great Americans. Keep making more money to donate and support our military troops.

Uncle Tom Lloyd Marcus becomes the face of the Tea Party movement

All across America, we’ve seen literally thousands of Tea Parties, Obamacare town hall protests, and the recent march on Washington. Hundreds of thousand of people, if not millions, have come out to voice their anger at what’s going on in their country courtesy of President Rahm Emanuel and his puppet, Barack Obama. And 99% of them have been white. That’s a fact. In fact, it’s probably higher than that, like 99.99%. It’s a white movement, plain and simple. But white people have been taught to hate themselves, and so they go out of their way to recruit Uncle Tom’s for their movements, hoping the media won’t call them racists. The family values crowd enlisted “Bishop” Harry Jackson in their fight against gay marriage. And Harry Jackson promptly repaid the favor by inviting “black conservative” crackhead criminal Marion Barry to speak at a rally for traditional marriage. And who can forget Julius Caesar (JC) Watts, the darling of the conservative movement in the 1990s, simply because he was the only black Republican in Congress? After being coddled and promoted by white Republicans for years, in 2008 Watts paid them back by saying he was probably going to vote for Obama, and hinted that he thinks the GOP is “racist.” And don’t get me started on Harry Alford.

Republicans have been doing this for decades, groveling and pandering to blacks in the hope that blacks will see just “color-blind” they are, and start voting GOP. And year after year, election after election, blacks continue voting for the Democrats by a factor of at least 9-1. In 2008, it was 19-1. 95% of blacks voted for Obama. And have conservatives learned anything? Nope. Look at the tea parties for proof. Until a couple days ago, hardly anyone could name a person associated with the tea parties. They came out of a true grass roots movement, and except for the few politicians and washed up C-list celebs who latched on to them, like Chuck Norris, there wasn’t a face attached to the movement. It was truly a mass movement, that didn’t revolve around a personality.

But in the past couple days, one person has become the face of the tea parties. And surprise, surprise, it’s a black guy. Hundreds of thousands, possibly millions of people show up at tea parties, and about 7 of them are black, and now one of them has become the public face of this white movement. I wrote about Marcus a long time ago. He wrote some lame song that’s now the Tea Party Anthem, and so he was invited up on stage to play and sing for the crowd at the Orlando protest. I said that his presence was proof that the tea parties aren’t serious, and that they were going nowhere. And after his Orlando performance, he was asked to perform at a whole bunch of other “conservative” political events and protests, by stupid white people who are eager to show they’re not racist.

Never mind that’s he’s “married” to a white woman. Oh hell no, that’s no problem. Conservatives will gladly embrace their own genocide if they think the media will stop calling them racists.

But in the past few days, Lloyd Marcus has become the national symbol of the Tea Party movement. He wrote a column for the neo-con website American Thinker denouncing liberals and Democrats for, you guessed it, “racism”. (Do blacks, “conservative” or “liberal”, ever talk about anything else?) Then influential columnist (and substitute host for Rush Limbaugh) started praising him on the National Review website. More prominent “conservative” writers picked up the theme and ran with it. Here’s one. There are lots more.

Unbelievably, even Peter Brimelow is now praising Lloyd Marcus.

So once again, a white movement has been completely neutralized by political correctness. Millions of white people are looking for a group that will speak out for them, and speak up for their interests, without apology. Then they find out that the tea party crowd not only won’t speak up for them, but their public mascot is a black man who’s engaged in white genocide.

Yeah, that’s a real smart plan for winning the hearts and minds of the millions of fed up white people in this country.

And conservatives wonder why they never make any progress, or win any big battles?

It’s fine for white women to marry black men, but two men getting married is a big deal?

Interracial marriage is hunky dory, but high taxes are an abomination?

The GOP is determined to commit suicide

The Republican Party has learned nothing from recent history, and continues to do everything it can to repel its base of white voters, in a futile attempt to attract non-whites to the party. They’ve added a new section on GOP.com, which features Republican “Heroes”. You’ve got to see this to believe it. Of the 18, three are white women from the 19th or early 20th century, such as the radical feminist Susan B. Anthony, Clara Barton, the nurse who founded The Red Cross, and one Ellen Foster, whose claim to fame is that she was one of the first female attorneys in the US. Apparently there have been no significant Republican women in over 100 years.

Of the eighteen “heroes”, nine of them are black men. Seven of them are as ancient as the women. But they certainly have had a huge impact on the GOP and America. Let’s see; there’s Pinckney Pinchback, the son of a slave who became the GOP governor of Reconstruction era Louisiana in 1872. Then there’s Octavius Catto, another son of slaves who became a civil right activist in Pennsyvania, and was murdered in 1871 by “a Democrat” who didn’t like his political activities. Then there’s Joseph Rainey, a runaway slave who went on to become the first “African-American” Congressman, thanks to Reconstruction. And who can forget Jose Celso Barbosa, the black Hispanic who “established the Puerto Rico Republican Party” in 1899. And, whoa Nellie!, what about John Langston? He was the very first “African-American” public official in the US, being elected township clerk in Ohio! He was later named as diplomat to Haiti and the Dominican Republic. The GOP helpfully points out that Langston Hughes, whom they refer to as a “literary giant”, was named after him. For some reason, they forgot to mention that many of the poems by this “literary giant” appeared in the newspaper of the Communist Party USA, and that he was a notorious defender of the Soviet Union back when Stalin was killing millions. I’m sure that’s just an oversight.

Then there’s Hiram Revels, who was the first “African-American” Senator, again thanks to Reconstruction. Say, aren’t the GOP’s most reliable voters white Southerners? I wonder what they think of the party celebrating the Reconstruction period like this? Not to worry, because most of them will never know, because Hannity, Beck and Limbaugh will make it a point to never mention this “Heroes” page on their shows. Might not be good for business. Then there’s Frederick Douglass. No need to go into details on him. There’s also one black woman, Mary Terrell, who’s in there because she helped found the NAACP, which has done so much to advance the cause of conservative, limited government over the years.

There are a couple of blacks from the 20th century. One is Edward Brooke, who was elected Senator from Massachusetts in 1966. The other is Jackie Robinson, the first black player in major league baseball. They’re really reaching with this one. Robinson would be none too happy if he were alive today and saw the GOP claiming him as one of their heroes.

As pointed out by a Democratic source, the inclusion of baseball star Jackie Robinson on the list seems particularly egregious. The former Dodger, who broke baseball’s color barrier, was far from a dyed-in-the-wool conservative. Robinson’s ties to the GOP seemed more driven by a personal admiration for Nelson Rockefeller — the New Yorker who would end up being vice president under Gerald Ford — than it was core ideological convictions. In his biography, Robinson said that as the Republican Party leadership tilted towards Barry Goldwater conservatives, he began to have “a better understanding of how it must have felt to be a Jew in Hitler’s Germany.”

Writing on page 340 of the autobiography, “I Never Had It Made”, Robinson went so far as to insist that he be called an independent, “since I’ve never identified myself with one party or another in politics.” In 1968 he campaigned for Hubert Humphrey.

“I was not as sold on the Republican party as I was on the governor,” Robinson wrote of Rockefeller. “Every chance I got, while I was campaigning, I said plainly what I thought of the right-wing Republicans and the harm they were doing. I felt the GOP was a minority party in term of numbers of registered voters and could not win unless they updated their social philosophy and sponsored candidates and principles to attract the young, the black, and the independent voter. I said this often from public, and frequently Republican, platforms. By and large Republicans had ignored blacks and sometimes handpicked a few servile leaders in the black community to be their token “niggers.” How would I sound trying to go all out to sell Republicans to black people? They’re not buying. They know better.”

“I admit freely that I think, live, and breathe black first and foremost. That is one of the reasons I was so committed to the governor and so opposed to Senator Barry Goldwater. Early in 1964 I wrote a Speaking Out piece for The Saturday Evening Post. A Barry Goldwater victory would insure that the GOP would be completely the white man’s party. What happened at San Francisco when Senator Goldwater became the Republican standard-bearer confirmed my prediction.”

“I wasn’t altogether caught of guard by the victory of the reactionary forces in the Republican party, but I was appalled by the tactics they used to stifle their liberal opposition,” Robinson wrote of that 1964 convention. “I was a special delegate to the convention through an arrangement made by the Rockefeller office. That convention was one of the most unforgettable and frightening experiences of my life. The hatred I saw was unique to me because it was hatred directed against a white man. It embodied a revulsion for all he stood for, including his enlightened attitude toward black people.”

Yeah, Jackie Robinson, “GOP Hero.”

You focus on Jessie and Al sharpton for some reason, when they are just ambulance chasing as usual. They are not the reason Rush isn’t going to own a NFL franchise, it is cause many players (black) have come out against Rush. Whether you agree or not, Rush style of political commentary is offensive and racist to many in the african american community. The way they feel has nothing to do with Al or Jessie. %70 of the NFL players of black. So majority will rule on this one. I am black and listen to Mr. Limbaugh, but I often find his comments biting. I respect him for not being afraid to speak his mind, but their are always consequences for our words no matter who we are. MONEY won’t change that! He is the one who said “Watching the NFL is like watching the Crips and the Bloods without weapons”. He said that. Now he wants to make money off of the backs of those crips and bloods. And you guys wonder why people are offended. Be honest with yourself.

Jesse and Al jumped in the fray in the first place and jumped in front of every camera they could find to brag about he letter they fired off to the NFL. So talking about them in this case is no big deal and on point.

Second, I’m not suggesting that they are the reason why Rush is getting denied.

Third, can you explain to me how his crips and bloods comment was somehow racist (many are saying this) when A. Blacks make up both gangs. B. Read this article “NFL is looking at all the signs”, and C. here is the complete context of what the man actually said. (see below).

Yes, there are consequences of what one says, but that is not what is fueling this whole issue here. This is clearly based on the fact that He is Rush Limbaugh–that’s it. Making all this other crap up when you clearly cannot point to not one NFL owner who has been scrutinized as this level is dishonesty.

I love the game–period. So what I wrote was more about defending Rush. It’s about keeping silly political differences out of the game. All the average NFL fan cares about is if their team wins or loses. It’s the nitpicky dweebs out here in cyberspace that can make a trip going to the bathroom a racial and political controversy.

CALLER: I’ve listened to you since September 11th, and I find that I almost always agree with you. I’d say I only disagree with you about 1.5% of the time coincidentally enough. But the reason I’m calling today, sir, is I wanted to get your thoughts regarding what LaDainian Tomlinson had to say about Bill Belichick this past week.

RUSH: Okay, I’m going to take your call, I’m going to use this to expand the answer to incorporate all of the National Football League if you don’t mind.

CALLER: Not at all.

RUSH: To set the table for people who do not know, after the Chargers and Patriots game, the Chargers sitting around moping, all depressed, because they had the game won, it was just all kinds of stupid mistakes, and let me tell you what happened. Some of the Patriots went to midfield where the Chargers logo is and started doing an imitation of a victory dance done by Chargers player Shawne Merriman after he sacks a quarterback. Now, here are the Chargers who have lost a game they should have won, who lost a game precisely because of the same kind of behavior they’re ripping the Patriots for, and LaDainian Tomlinson says that was classless, (paraphrasing) “We went in there, we beat them twice on their field and we didn’t disrespect them. This obviously comes from the head coach,” meaning Belichick. LaDainian Tomlinson was accusing Belichick of ordering his players and creating a culture that would make it okay for players to go on the field and taunt and so forth and so on.

Now, LaDainian Tomlinson to me is the classiest player in the National Football League. He doesn’t do a dance, he doesn’t spike the ball when he scores. He and Marvin Harrison are the two most classy individuals playing in the National Football League today, in skill positions. They just hand the ball back to the referee. They act like they’ve been there and done that, like scoring a touchdown is no big deal, they don’t taunt, they don’t act like they’ve been dissed or any of this. Let me tell you, the Chargers would not have lost that game were it not for a bunch of — I gotta be very careful here. It’s not just irresponsible, but there is a cultural problem in the NFL that has resulted in a total lack of class on the part of professional players.

There was a play where Brady was third and long, he was sacked, fumbled the ball, the Patriots recovered it, it will be fourth and long, forcing an interesting decision late in the game by the Patriots. After the play is over, a Chargers player gets in the face of a Patriots player, head butts him and starts jawing. This is the reason these guys are getting shot in bars, folks, late at night. Fifteen-yard penalty, automatic first down. So for the Chargers to complain about the lack of class by the Patriots, I found laughable. I think something ought to be done about it, because I love the game of football, and I don’t like the kind of culture that’s taking over, that “you can’t diss me, you can’t disrespect me.” After every sack, players are acting like they’ve won the Super Bowl, and they’re prancing around with these idiotic dances. The latest thing is to act like they’re making a jump shot in basketball. It’s all done to taunt; it’s all done to taunt the other team’s fans.

I don’t want boring football. I don’t want the no-fun league, but you can certainly have great football games without a lack of class. I don’t know how it’s been allowed to happen this way. I guess the coaches don’t feel confident to continue — this was very rare for the Patriots to act the way they did, and who knows what led to it. I don’t think of Belichick as that kind of coach, but Tomlinson’s words reverberated around the league. A lot of people said, “I’m glad he said something, because Belichick is getting away here with an image that he doesn’t deserve.” I’ve played golf with Belichick; he’s a mild-mannered, soft-spoken man. I even saw him at a cocktail party here in Palm Beach before dinner one night. That whole organization to me exudes class, as does Tom Brady, and you don’t see them doing this kind of stuff.

One of the reasons the Pittsburgh Steelers had trouble this year was a total lack of discipline, in addition to all their turnovers, total lack of discipline, 15-yard penalties, unnecessary roughness, taunting after plays are over, after successful defensive stands, they blow it. There’s something culturally wrong here that is leading to all this. It’s gotta be dealt with at the top, because it simply is classless. I can I understand LaDainian Tomlinson being upset because he doesn’t do this stuff. But in the current NFL climate the best way for the Chargers to prevent that from happening is win the game and keep this insidious, ridiculous, boorish, classless behavior to a minimum so that you don’t lose it on account of that. It’s just disappointing, and it’s a mystery to me why it’s being allowed to continue. Well, actually, I understand partially why it continues, and that’s because of ESPN.

ESPN lives off this. ESPN created Terrell Owens. Terrell Owens is who he is, but if Terrell Owens weren’t constantly on television with his antics after touchdowns — I remember, I called this. You remember the Monday night game on ABC and Seattle when after scoring a touchdown, T.O. playing for the Fort’iners, pulls a Sharpie out of his sock, autographs the ball and gives it to somebody. I said, “Folks, this is going to lead to nothing but trouble.” Everybody said, “Come on, Rush, lighten up, that was funny.” It was classless. Go back and look at the greats who played this game. They would not do anything of the sort, maybe hand the ball off, but not pull a Sharpie out. Everybody started to talk about how much fun that was, ooh, how cool, how creative. Then we get Joe Horn of the United States Saints after he scored a touchdown pulling a cell phone out of his socks and faked making a phone call. Well, guess what shows up on ESPN? So these guys get validated, everybody wants to stand out, they want to get endorsement deals and so forth. So television, making stars out of people who engage in classless behavior helps lead to it and contribute to it. No question in my mind about it. I’ll bet the guy that called from El Paso did not expect this as an answer.

RUSH: Look it, let me put it to you this way. The NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it.

Duane, I appreciate your response, and I also appreciate the transcript witch only further validates my point. Donovan Mccnabb (classy player), Mathias Kiwanuka of the Giants (classy player), Bart Scott of Jets, retired player Roman Oben, former Ram DLineman Demarco Farr, Owner of Indy Colts, Head of the players union, and finally Roger Goddell, all came out against the idea of Rush becoming an owner. These aren’t online dweebs, but classy professionals that Mr. Limbaugh esteems to be amongst. I guess they are all BRAINWASHED BY JESSIE AND AL! lol….Finally, the problem with the transcript is Rush’s own point in the blood and crips matter is inaccurate in so many ways. Fist, have you ever watched NFL films show the old school football players play, they fought after plays all of the time. Especially HOF linebackers like Jack Lambert and Dick Butkis. I’ve seen games where full brawls break out. Secondly, Rush keeps referring to this new culture, and than compares the culture of black players to crips and bloods. Duane you don’t see the race connection in that. Yet he sites Tom Brady as a model of classy behavior, when I’ve watched Tom Brady Jaw with DB’s on the field in the middle of the game. (Against Pitt. on Monday night football 2 years back). Not to mention that same Steeler team he complains about being classless, won the Super Bowl the following year. Case RESTED!

Rush was to be a silent partner in the deal. Rush mentioned it on his show and The media got a hold of it, got Jesse and Al in the mix, political bloggers jumped all on it and suddenly it became a political/racial issue. People of all political persuasions both own and invest in the marketplace all the time with people caring less about politics and more about the product. This was not about the preservation of the game, it was about keeping Rush out. In the meantime, no one is willing to be consistent with these new standards on anyone else. That is the part I don’t like.

Again, Rush is a polarizing figure. I get that. Things like this will happen if you are a polarizing figure.

These aren’t online dweebs, but classy professionals that Mr. Limbaugh esteems to be amongst.

You named 5 Black people who said they were against the idea. Did you take the time to find the Black players who were willing enough to say they had no problem with it? Better yet, did you look? Or are we retreating back to suggesting that a handful of Black folks represent the whole?

Now you are adding what you want to see. This is exactly why I posted the entire transcript. He called out the ENTIRE Pittsburg Steelers football team. Another thing you chose to miss– he also cited LaDainian Tomlinson as “the classiest player in the National Football League”. He’s Black (the last time I checked). That is in the transcript and to make your race case, you jumped right to Tom Brady. Another thing, you also fail to mention that DeMaurice Smith is actually an Obama support, put money towards his campaign and has been part of the Washington D.C. culture for years. But let’s look over all of that.

So never mind the fact that the NFL had in fact been cracking down on players throwing gang signs. Nevermind the fact that beyond the clip both you and all other critics keep repeating, Rush actually mentions that a Black player (LaDainian Tomlinson) in his view was the classiest player in the NFL. Never mind all of that. Just keep repeating the one excerpt over and over and over and over again.

Whether or not you personally don’t find somebodies comments offensive doesn’t mean somebody else has to feel the same way you do. And if people are offended by Rush then they have every right to voice their opinions on it. Just like Rush and all of his defenders have every right to counter those opinions. And ultimately it was his own bidding partners that kicked him out of the group. Al Sharpton didn’t put a gun to their heads. Oh well that’s America.

Marie: It always gets me when people try to tell me that I have the responsibility to denounce somebody. What does Sharpton and Jackson have to do with me? Why do you see fit that I as a Black person have to denounce them? Why can’t you see that each Black person is an individual and that whenever Sharpton and Jackson or whomever speak they are speaking for themselves and not the whole Black community regardless of if they try to say otherwise. If you need some special sort of denouncing speech from each individual Black person, well I don’t know what to say about you.

EB, this isn’t about who has a right to say what. My only main point here is that politics should stay off the field. The NFL had every right to do what they did because that is their league. So again, why not apply the same standard of scrutiny on everybody else who is part of the game?

Well I never stated that you said that folks don’t have the right to voice their opinions. That was more or less a general statement. My main point is that people are always going to politicize things that may or may not deserve to be politicized, and this time it affected Rush and the NFL. Before it was/is the Rooney Rule. People politicized children saying Obama was going to indoctrinate them into mindless socialist stooges. etc. etc. Such is life.

Now to your point of why apply the same standard, can Rush run a 4.2? Do others have the same notoriety as Rush? Have others made statements that could possibly be interpreted in a racially divisive manner? It may not be fair, but that’s life and life is hardly ever fair or equal.

And for the record I really could care less if Rush got a team.

To agree with Duane yes, “…This is really starting to get old…”

Since Blacks on this site have now decided that since “70%” of the football players are “Black” and Football is a “Black” sport, Then, I need to sit down in the dinner table with my kids and have them turn off the T.V. because they were watching a game of “black People Football” and “Black People Basketball” when I really want them to watch “White People Tennis and White People Ski” sports. But, definetely they should never watch “Asian Ping Pong”.

Where my kind of people are the majority of educated, rich and successful individuals. In this case I am refering to my African American family (I am not but … If I were). Let me see should I move to Brazil? Japan? Africa, Australia, China? Should I move to Peru and be able to achieve sucess without corruption?… well, No.

I think this conversation has gone off the rails abit. Marie I’m not sure what point you are trying to make exactly. Demographics, whether race, religion, political party, class matters in this country. The only reason I bring up the fact that %70 of the players are black, just means that they have negotiating power if as a block they wanted something. I’m willing to bet money, if I betted at all, that if this was Hockey it wouldn’t matter and Rush would still be in the runnings for the team. That is just reality. I wish it wasn’t that way. Duane, the only point I was making is that Al and Jessie have nothing to do with this matter, it was players in the league that spoke out. No they don’t represent all black players opinions, but it was a risk that the ownership group that Rush was apart of and the NFL as a business had to consider. I wonder if anyone on this web site that jumped in the “racist” wagon will do the same and realized that Blacks, Hispanics and Democrats are never interested in the truth or facts. Only conservatives look at facts.
