The White House the other day invited 20 Black bloggers to a “Black online summit” in its effort to reach the Black vote.

Several things I found funny about this

#All the bloggers mentioned are left leaning (so much for Obama being one that would try to work with both sides)

#The sites mentioned rarely (if at all) take Obama to task on anything. I have yet to see any of them challenge the administration on how the stimulus package did nothing to lower unemployment as promised and certainly did nothing to lower Black unemployment.

#Mediatakeout.com was there. What are they going to report? Michelle Obama’s body was banging?

And then there was this~

“”They outlined how the administration’s policies have had a positive effect on the African-American community and they invited us to make suggestions on how they could work better with us and provide us with more access to the White House.”

Translation: They played the role of stormtrooper and the administration was their Obi Wan.

There was also this~

“However, Leutisha Stills, who blogs at Jack & Jill Politics, cautioned, “The summit was a good one and very comprehensive, but we made it known that if we really have ‘influence,’ we are going to test drive it and see how many more invites we get from the White House.”

She doesn’t realize that the “summit” WAS the test drive. The Black constituency only becomes important to the DC party when their job security is being threatened. Sadly, this group has lowered themselves to the role of Bookman of Good Times. Need a toilet fixed? Call Bookman. Need to save a party, call a Black bloggers summit at the White House.
