“If some individuals contribute to general social deterioration by overproducing children, and if the need is compelling, they can be required by law to exercise reproductive responsibility—just as they can be required to exercise responsibility in their resource-consumption patterns—providing they are not denied equal protection.” (Excerpt from the book “Ecoscience”. “Indeed, it has been concluded that compulsory population-control laws, even including laws requiring compulsory abortion, could be sustained under the existing Constitution if the population crisis became sufficiently severe to endanger the society.”
Since it is so easy for us to take a stroll down history’s memory lane anytime a White person commits an infraction against Black folks, why does the stroll stop when discussing the history of population control and Black folks?
Here you have Obama’s own Science Czar believing that individuals [who] contribute to general social deterioration by overproducing children should be forced to have abortions. Based on some of the reactions from my post “The struggle for one voice”, there are people out there that still believe that White folks judge the entire Black race based on those in our culture who “…contribute to general social deterioration.” If that is the case, why is there apparently little concern about including population control in this latest health care bill?

Abortion coverage is something that has been offered by some private health insurers for years (the actual percentage of private insurers offering coverage for abortion is still being debated). Expanding this coverage to an entity that believes in using it as an instrument to rid society of “undesirables” is something that should cause shouts of disapproval from Black Americans (according to a 2004 Zogby poll, Blacks favor the pro-life perspective 62-38), not shouts of “Yes we can”!
