Here’s part 1.

During the hyper-sensitive election season last year where virtually anything could be weaponized to damage the other side, critics routinely accused Fox News (supposedly the news network for “the right”) for being “too White”.  In the meantime, CNN was praised for its diversity behind the desk. The only problem? Compared to Fox News, their ratings sucked.

From NYPost.com

“SINCE President Obama took office in January, CNN has seen its ratings drop. And one reason has to do with Campbell Brown. The host of “No Bias, No Bull” has been on maternity leave for the past month, and in her absence, the show with substitute host Roland Martin has nose-dived. Sources say he has complained the network doesn’t promote him enough or book him high-profile guests.”

Perhaps Martin should consider the fact that Anderson Cooper has been promoted to death by CNN and he still is unable to bring in the viewers. He also continues to have  ”high profile guests” and…he’s White.

Now, do I love to see the news being reported by people who look like me? Y..yes, I guess. What’s really important to me is how well the information is being presented. If the person happens to be Black, that certainly is a bonus. But I have to say that  news is news to me, period. The news is not even the last place I would look for a personal ethnic uplift. So I always found it puzzling that some people out there actually believed that darker faces delivering the news (mind you, the same news that could be heard anywhere else) was going to be the “Bat signal” to call in colored viewers from all over Gotham.

It never happened.

Another PC experiment failure.

For our next diversity experiment, watch how potential Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor will make Hispanics everywhere feel better about themselves. You know, just like  Justice Clarence Thomas did for Black people.
