Okay, Martin has already apologized twice to the gay mafia and is now going to kiss their ring. But to radio talk show host Tom Joyner, well…that is not good enough.
“As head of the family, I’ve sat back as long as I could, hoping I wouldn’t have to say anything. But now the time has come.
“So, Roland, we love you and need you full force to be able to do what you do — represent us and our views on CNN and other arenas. In order to continue your role on that show, on the speaking circuit, etc., it’s time for you to make a sincere apology to GLAAD (The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation). When people are offended by something we say or do, it doesn’t matter what our intentions are. The job of the offender is simply to apologize and learn a lesson about what to say or do going forward.
“Your mission is greater than your [principle]. It’s no longer about you. Now it’s grown into something bigger than you are, but only you can make right.”
Okay, now this is getting way outta hand.
Joyner can laugh at every Black comedian that comes through his show that says something derogatory (disguised as comedy) about Black folks. But the moment something is said about the gay mafia, Joyner is shaking in his boots pleading with Martin to dance some more.
Martin apologized and that should be it. If anything, Martin should ask Joyner to define a “sincere apology” and give him an example of what one looks like.
Anytime when the word “diversity” is mentioned in political circles, it means “believe how we believe or we will kick you”. That’s not diversity, that’s the total opposite. While Joyner’s public remarks do not include any kind of threat, he is clearly trying to force this brotha to change his personal opinion. Martin’s biggest crime here was that he allowed his personal opinion on men with female tendencies to seep out on Twitter. What Martin said was nothing new in typical jesting amongst men. ONLY FOOLS ACT ON IT.
So I think it is time for Joyner to show some consistency here. If he is going to encourage Martin to embark on some pink apology tour, then he should hold the same stance when it comes to the sheer Tom foolery that is prevalent in Black comedy. Shame every Black comedian for saying anything negative in jest about Black folks. Because we wouldn’t want to see anybody actually slapping the #$@!% out of anybody’s child.
