Politics is no different than any other sport, in my lil’ opinion. You have winners and you have losers. Those that claim to be in the middle and above the fray only work to build a third team that will eventually replace one of the teams on the field.

Staying on the theme of comparing politics to sports– when was the last time you saw a player apologize for dunking? Or when was the last time you saw a hockey player apologize for body checking too hard? You have not seen it and you will never see it. Yet there are those of us who sit in the stands that surround DC expect elected officials to apologize anytime a hit has been made on the field.

When you get the time, check out the following political hits that forced these players to apologize.

Bill Maher compares retarded children to dogs

Trent Lott Resignation Press Conference

Jesse Jackson on Obama: ‘Wanna Cut His Nuts Off”

Fox News’ E.D. Hill Apologizes for “Terrorist Fist Jab”

Now ask yourself , “Did these apologies really matter?” Were the people who claimed to be offended forgive and forget? Or has these infractions been used over and over again to remind folks while the other side sucks so bad?
