I remember hearing all throughout the G.W. Bush years how he (Bush) was pushing this country into totalitarianism (just do a Google search to refresh your memory).

If you disagree with Obama’s initiatives and you happen to be either a public figure or business owner, you may find yourself the target of a “grassroots” (I’m so tired of that word) effort to shut you down. But before I continue, let’s look at the definition of totalitarianism~

“of or relating to centralized control by an autocratic leader or hierarchy : authoritarian, dictatorial; especially : despotic b : of or relating to a political regime based on subordination of the individual to the state and strict control of all aspects of the life and productive capacity of the nation especially by coercive measures (as censorship and terrorism)”

There is currently a campaign afoot to shut down Glenn Beck television show on Fox News. The funny thing about this is that this campaign is being waged by people who repeatedly make the claim that Fox News (sorry, Faux News) is something not worth watching. Another thing:

“For its part, Fox News said through a spokeswoman that while some advertisers have ‘removed their spots from Beck,’ they have just shifted to ‘other programs on the network, so there has been no revenue lost.’”

If you are drawing the most viewers, advertisers are not going to dock their own pay to satisfy the wishes of part-time activists who don’t even watch the show in the first place (“Hello! Hello! McFly! Is anybody in there?”)

But if Faux News is something not worth watching and should not be considered “real news”, why the effort to shut them down? Why the effort to shut up Glenn Beck if what he is saying is “Faux News”? I used to think that people could simply make up their own minds and simply turn the channel. But perhaps I’ve been too naive as of late. Perhaps we do need the help of brown shirts concerned citizens to tell us what we should and should not watch.

Next we have Whole Foods CEO John Mackey. Apparently his business is being targeted by a boycott for an op-ed piece he wrote for the Wall Street Journal recently. He expressed an OPINION, offered solutions, have been demonstrating some of those solutions with his own employees, and now? Shut him down NOW!! Now mind you, Mackey doesn’t even consider himself a Republican or Conservative. Yet, for the simple reason he does not agree with ObamaCare, he must be stopped.

Liberals not shopping at Whole Foods? Yeah, I’ll believe that when weave hair gets played out. Where are they going to go now? Walmart?

Yeah, folks are getting a bit carried away with this “support the President, or else” nonsense. Little do they realize they are helping to create the Totalitarian government they claimed we had under Bush.
