LAS VEGAS — A group calling itself “African-Americans for Senator Harry Reid” is launching a drive to help re-elect the Nevada Democrat.
Strategist Donna Brazile rallies black support for Harry Reid after Obama remarks
Reid’s ‘Negro dialect’ remark politically incorrect, but totally right (Dr. Boyce Watkins)
When one of your political leaders have been accused of badly worded race talk, you look for the truth in what that person was trying to say and then you defend him. After all, ultimately you are all on the same team.
On the other hand, what I have noticed is that there are far too many Black right-leaning pundits out there who are downright too afraid to defend leaders in their neck of the woods when something they say does not meet PC standards. How often do you hear these individuals who oftentimes listen to people like Rush, Beck, Savage, Hewitt, Prager, etc. on a regular basis talk about the opinions they actually agree with? They can’t. Why? Because giving these individuals too much credit on anything would make them appear to be the fulfillment of every slave descriptor thrown at them. So instead, only when someone like Rush, Beck, etc. says something that does not meet the PC standard is it safe to come out with stones in hand. Other than that, a quiet “amen” will do. It is a self-made mental prison many Right-leaning conservatives make for themselves.
Notice how virtually nobody is calling the Black Democrats who rushed to Harry Reid’s side “sellouts”. I guess that is because they are the “free Negroes” in our political landscape.
