“Reversing a three-year trend downward, the number of undocumented Cubans intercepted at sea or who reached U.S. shores in the past 12 months soared by more than 100 percent — sparking questions about the reasons behind the new trend.
About 1,700 Cubans were interdicted or landed in fiscal year 2011, which ended Sept. 30, according to figures compiled by El Nuevo Herald from Homeland Security Department agencies. That compares to 831 in fiscal 2010.
U.S. Coast Guard interdictions at sea rose from 422 to 1,000, while landings on U.S. shores climbed from 409 to almost 700. Meanwhile, arrivals at U.S. border posts — almost all from Mexico — barely changed from 6,219 to 6,300.”

I wouldn’t want to be the person in the crowd whose head suddenly becomes a part of the game.

So we are slowly finding out that our “humanitarian” role in Libya is directly/indirectly aiding al-Qaeda.

“In an interview with the Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore, Mr al-Hasidi admitted that he had recruited “around 25″ men from the Derna area in eastern Libya to fight against coalition troops in Iraq. Some of them, he said, are “today are on the front lines in Adjabiya”.

Mr al-Hasidi insisted his fighters “are patriots and good Muslims, not terrorists,” but added that the “members of al-Qaeda are also good Muslims and are fighting against the invader”.

If he is admitting to “around 25″, that means the real number is much higher.

In the meantime, according to this report out government is more than eager to supply these rebels with more weapons.

“One of the unintended consequences of United Nations’ Resolution 1970 was to starve the rebels of the weapons they would need to take on Colonel Muammar Gaddafi.

It requires all UN members to “immediately take the necessary measures” to prevent the supply or sale of weapons to the Libyan government – with no exemption for anti-Gaddafi forces.

But Sky News now understands the US is looking at a legal framework to allow limited supplies of arms to the rebels, if they can prove they need them to defend themselves from attack.

Mark Kornblau, spokesman for US Ambassador Dr Susan Rice, confirmed it was a possibility.”

NBC Bay Area reporter Damian Trujillo asked her about the run on tablets and Dr. Benjamin said although she wasn’t aware of people stocking up, she did not think that would be an overreaction. That’s funny. So does this mean do not listen to Federal authorities? (lol)

Japan was BOMBED twice (Hiroshima and Nagasaki) with nuclear weapons and I do not recall any stories of radiation floating over 5,000 miles over the ocean in one potent cloud.

Another interesting observation. Pat Robertson got SLAMMED for suggesting that the earthquake in Haiti was tied to a pact made with the devil many moons ago.

These nuts tie the earthquake in Japan to global warming and we are supposed to collectively kick ourselves for not driving a skateboard to work.

Just one more observation: How does the nuclear situation in Japan create an opening for environmentalists? This was a non-man generated event that pushed a technology beyond its limits. That is like me suggesting that we should yank the entire auto hybrid technology just because someone in a Prius was involved in a car accident.

My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Japan. Meanwhile, the nuts over here who are trying to spread panic can pray for themselves.

Man, things seem to be moving quickly in Egypt these days.

American reporters getting beat up or threatened . I wonder if they are going to lecture the Egyptian mob on how to be more “civil” as they did with the Tea party?

When I do get the chance to listen to the news, it is usually for about a few minutes on public radio. It’s been interesting to hear how the protest is almost being romanticized (people vs. the big, mean and ugly government). What I am not hearing is while folks are caught up in the rapture of protest and change, WHO WILL FILL THE VACUUM?

Very little is being said about the Muslim Brotherhood and the extent of what that could really mean for a people who want to be lifted out of oppression. In short, the Muslim Brotherhood is pro-Sharia Law.

This is what the Egyptian people will face if they go with the Muslim Brotherhood.

As a former member of the Muslim Brotherhood, Ayaan Hirsi Ali talks about both the good and the ugly behind this organization.

“When I was 15 and considered myself a member of the Muslim Brotherhood movement, there were secular political groups in the diasporas of Pakistanis, Yemenis and Somalis, who lived in exile in Nairobi like my family. These loosely organized groups had vague plans for building their countries into peaceful, prosperous nations. These were dreams they never realized.

The Muslim Brotherhood did more than dream. With the help of money from Saudi Arabia and other oil-rich countries, they established cells in my school and functioning institutions in my neighborhood. There were extracurricular activities for all age groups. There were prayer and chant hours, as well as communal Koran readings. We were encouraged to become volunteers, to help the indigent, to spread Allah’s message. They established charities to which we could tithe, which then provided health and educational centers.

The Brotherhood also provided the only functioning banking networks, based on trust. They rescued teenagers from lives of drug addiction and excited them about a purposeful future for justice. Each of us was expected to recruit more people. Most importantly, their message transcended ethnicity, social class and even educational levels.”

Later in the article, she takes the secular government to task for not addressing these same needs and blames them for the rising popularity of the Muslim Brotherhood. She ultimately describes the Brotherhood as a form of tyranny just waiting in the winds to replace the existing tyrannical system.

The moral of the story is simple: Change is always exciting (such as it was back in 2008 for us here in America when Obama became president). But if you do not have a clue on what you are getting in exchange, you are nothing more than somone’s useful idiot.

I grew up in a time when Black consciousness was IT (both in the 70′s and when it showed up again in the early 90′s).

During both times we were told quite extensively how we were direct decedents of every Black ruler in Egypt. In fact, some folks would have you believe that all of Egypt was like the fictitious country of Zamunda (Coming to America) complete with wipers.

I have no doubts that Black Africans (I have to be specific there because not all Egyptians were considered “Black”) did play a role in Egyptian history. I do, however find it ironic that with all that is going on in that country today there is very little being said about it in OUR media. In fact, go to most of your favorite watering holes online and you will see Real Housewives of Atlanta show up more than Egypt.

So can we continue to be mad at schools for not teaching African history or is it that we are simply not that interested in Africa?

While cable news and online news media was busy creating an apocalyptic storm over the fake bombs that were discovered at both Newark and Philly airports, shipments of herion from Afghanistan still make it to the US. We have a full military presence in Afghanistan and a Department of Homeland Security here in the states and hustler Joe can still make thousands a week over something that is supposed to be illegal.

So do you really want me to believe that the “government” is doing everything it is doing to help keep us safe?  Do you really want me to believe that?

Do you believe that?

Here, I can post map after map after map of known drug trade routes and we can’t stop it?

I getting really tired of hearing many of my countrymen buy into the media line that somehow the world is going to become a more dangerous place if one pastor of a small church burns a bunch of Korans.

If Islam is truly the religion of “peace”, why are people shaking in their boots like the kid who is about to get the spanking of his life from his daddy?

Now, what this pastor is preparing to do certainly isn’t the brightest thing in the marketplace of ideas but I fail to see how this one action will make “them” hate us more.

A couple of things: one, the people we are currently fighting against in the Middle East have one thing in mind: Kill the enemy. The Taliban, Al-Qaeda and other extremist groups have no love for the West (and we have the crater in the middle of New York to prove it). These same groups have been killing both American civilians and our troops for a very long time. So I think they have the “hate” thing down pretty well.

The moment our young men and women land in Afghanistan and Iraq, they are already in danger. So the notion that one country pastor burning Korans is going to put our troops in danger is false. THEY ARE ALREADY IN DANGER! That is why they bring guns.

Again, is there no verse in the Koran that talks about turning the other cheek when offended? Where is the religion of peace?

Second. Christians have been routinely persecuted for decades in Muslim countries. Where are all the news reports from Al Jazeera warning Muslims that such actions will make Americans mad at them?

Any concern for large scale recruitment of Christians enlisting into the military because of this newly converted Christian from Islam who was attacked in Ethiopia? Or how about the 10 Christian aid workers who were recently killed by the Taliban? Their lives apparently count for nothing in this ridiculous discussion. Any public statements from Obama on stories like this?

If you are reading this and conclude that I am a supporter of what this pastor is doing, you have missed the point. Instead, this post is simply about demonstrating just how the media dictates what we should and should not fear.

He continued, “Tomorrow Europe might no longer be European and even black as there are millions (of Africans) who want to come in. He described the migration pattern as something “very dangerous”.”

In another report, “brother” Gadaffi was quoted in the same speech saying the following-

“We don’t know what will happen, what will be the reaction of the white and Christian Europeans faced with this influx of starving and ignorant Africans,”

It is going to be interesting if people like Farrakhan are going to chime in on this one given his full endorsement of Gadaffi as a “friend” to Black folks.

What is also going to be telling is how the same media and same blogosphere that can easily pull up past comments from folks in the past will tip toe through this one.

…but non-Whites continue to come to this country in droves. Even if it means breaking our laws to get here, they will risk life and limb to get here. The people who continue to race bait this issue willingly leave stories like this out of the conversation.

The Republican politicians who are suggesting to rewrite the 14th amendment are completely out to lunch and know that politically that will never happen.

Enforce the laws we already have on the books regarding immigration and leave the Constitution alone.
