Winfrey had watched a video recounting Price’s rise in the cosmetics biz, and did a double take – she remembered that she’d received a Carol’s Daughter gift basket from Halle Berry.
“She said, ‘You’re Carol’s Daughter!’” Price recalled. “That was the moment for me – that was it.”
Price, 44, is getting used to having those kind of moments. A one-time writer’s assistant for “The Cosby Show,” she turned her hobby of mixing up beauty items in her kitchen into a nationally known brand catering to African-American women.
Sales hit $10 million in 2006, up 40% from the previous year. (more…)
