Washington, DC (PRWEB) March 14, 2007 – A newly launched website, Blackmilitaryworld.com, is offering a new perspective on what it is to be African-American in the U.S. military. The site, created by Retired Navy Commander Gregory A. Black , was developed through a desire to inform and educate the wider public about the Black Military experience.
“For more than three years, the United States has been fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Yet, unless members of the public have family members or friends serving, they are — for the most part — unaware of the effect of the conflicts on the soldiers or issues of concern to those who serve,†says Gregory A. Black, developer of Blackmilitaryworld.com.
“What amazes me is how little we know about the military, yet more and more, we blindly send many of our ‘best and brightest’ each year to serve,†he said. “We have realized that people really want to know and this website provides a critical element in bridging the gap.â€Â

Only now did I find you site. I’ll be eager to read more.
I posted an article pointing out racism in the military, and got told I was racist for pointing it out! How dumb is that?

I’ve been called a racist a lot lately. Seems every time I disagree with anyone, I’m a racist. Seems every time I disagree about anything, I’m a racist.
This is one more venue where the easy response, if you don’t agree, is that you’re a racist.
I believe there is racism in the U.S. military. There always has been. It’s just as shameful now as it was during WWI and II.
The question is: What can be done about it?
And: Who will do it?
