Time to take the earings off

Here is Barbara Boxer’s remarks to Condoleezza Rice during yesterday’s hearings regarding the war in Iraq:

Boxer made it personal.

“I’m not going to pay a personal price,” she said. “My kids are too old and my grandchild is too young. You’re not going to pay a particular price, as I understand it, with an immediate family.”

Boxer talked about families losing loved ones and soldiers in hospital burn units. “These are the people who pay the price.”

Rice said evenly that she understands the sacrifice of service members and families.

“I visit them. I know what they’re going through. I talk to their families. I see it. I could never and I can never do anything to replace any of those lost men and women in uniform, or the diplomats, some of whom. …”

Boxer cut her off.

“Madam Secretary, please,” she said. “I know you feel terrible about it. That’s not the point. I was making the case as to who pays the price for your decisions.” (source)

Honestly, my problem isn’t so much with the comment as it is with how Liberals like herself are constantly raising the bar of qualification bar for Republicans while lowering their own. If a person who does not have children is not the right person to make sound decisions regarding the current war, then perhaps she should play the same game when it comes down to age. Don’t worry, I am not going to bore you with the long list of crap that took place under her watch while she played it down. However, I will bring up two things to make the point:

The PBS onlineNewshour summarizes the House Banking Scandal, also known as Rubbergate: “In 1992, many House members were suspected of bouncing checks from accounts they held at the so-called “House Bank” — a loose operation that allowed member of Congress to cash their checks but kept shoddy records and often were quite delayed in recording deposits or withdrawals. Although the lawmakers had broken no laws and many did not even know they were bouncing checks, several took advantage of the bank system and many voters viewed the scandal as a blatant abuse of power. Of the 296 sitting representatives and 59 former members who had overdrafted their personal accounts in the preceding 39 months, the House Ethics Committee released a list of the 24 worst abusers.”

Boxer was among the top 24 involved in the House bank scandal. On March 1, 1992 the Sacramento Bee quoted Boxer as admitting she didn’t pay enough attention to her House bank account. More specifically, that meant 143 bad checks totaling $41,417 over a three-year period that she had written on the House bank.  (source)

And this story involving her son:

Politicians caught between the political correctness of supporting Native Americans and voters outraged by the proliferation of casinos don’t know which way to turn. Three years ago, Sen. Barbara Boxer pushed through Congress a bill providing federal recognition for Northern California’s Coast Miwok tribe. Boxer circumvented the Bureau of Indian Affairs after receiving assurances from the Miwoks that they would not open a casino. But this past April the tribe hired a team of influential political advisers, which included Boxer’s son Doug, and announced plans for a massive casino and resort operated by Nevada financiers. Miwok chief Greg Sarris, a college English professor and Hollywood screenwriter, says he’s just trying to lift his people out of poverty. But Sonoma officials say they’ll remember Boxer’s role in this double-cross when she runs for reelection next year. (source)

But perhaps it was her old age that contributed to her not being able to keep track of taxpayer dollars or the fact that her son was in the mix with her shady dealings with casino owners? Awww, nevermind!

Like the Republican party, the Democrats are showing themselves as real punks once given the opportunity to act on what WE THE PEOPLE want. President Bush proposes an increase of troops into Iraq—their response? A symbolic vote against it while endlessly ranting about how Bush lied them into a war and how he is an incompetent president who has foolishly sacrificed the lives of our soldiers.  If what they are saying is true, then why not just grow a pair and vote against it??? A REAL vote.

Now do you see why this is not a political blog?

Same ol’, same ol’.

Boxer To Rice: Begone, Barren Woman!

This one is disgustingly low, even for a bitch like Barbara Boxer.

Condoleezza Rice came under a shocking Democratic attack yesterday – as a childless woman who can’t understand the sacrifices made by families of U.S. troops in Iraq. In a bitte…
