***UPDATED! SCROLL DOWN***
Long gone are the day when if a teacher was incompetent, they would just simply be removed. The same goes for students that are distracting to other students who wish to learn. In its place is a long trail of red tape that does nothing but strangle the life out of our educational system.
“It takes 66 “bureaucratic steps” to suspend a disruptive student, and 83 to fire an incompetent teacher…” (more…)

I forgot to mention this story in relation to this particular posting.
There is a teacher in Ontario, CA (about 10 minutes from me–just outside my school district) who has ADMITTED molesting between 100-200 students! You would think that a stupid question to ask here would be “Did they fire him?” Now check this out:
Investigations into California teachers and substitute teachers suspected of misconduct can take six months or even longer if the due process involves a lengthy hearing.
Unless a school employee is arrested on suspicion of serious criminal activity, a teacher’s credentials could take months to be suspended, said Mary Armstrong, general counsel for the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. (source)

News that the man who confessed to being present when 6-year-old JonBenet Ramsey died and that an Ontario man accused of multiple incidents of child molestation were both substitute teachers in California has experts blaming a fractured system.” (more…)
Here is a discussion board that apparently has been following the story.
You would think that mainstream media would have been all over this story instead of panting over the now proven “not guilty” killer of Jonbenet Ramsey. Let me also add here that Ontario, CA has a very large Black and Hispanic population. Hmmmmm.
