A combination of positive and negative reinforcement seemed to do the trick.
Praise when doing well.
No praise when not doing well and explaining what was done wrong, why it was wrong, and the consequences of doing wrong.
Spanking when required.
Taking away privileges.

In all essence I think the truth is always the best teacher to guide a childs perception of reality towards reality. Like yea drugs may make you feel good but they are almost always dangerous to your health and upward mobility in an ever changing society and when you think about it is it really a good feeling it gives you . I don’t think so

I believe it is most important to understand that your child is not supposed to be your best friend. You are there to guide and show them the way. Yes positive reinforcement and spanking are a part of that teaching. My youngest is only 2 but he seems to be able to deal well with straight talk. I don’t yell. PEOPLE DO NOT RESPOND TO RAISED voices. Instead I talk to them. And yes if need be I will whoop thier butts. Above all else understand that raising children is a JOB. Just like your 9 to 5, if you don’t do it right you will suffer the consequences.
