I HATE TO SAY I HAD A BAD OPINION ABOUT STRIPPERS ONLY BECAUSE I WAS MADE AT MY BOYFRIEND FOR LYING TO ME ABOUT GOING TO ONE BUT WHAT IS ALSO FUNNY IS THAT I AM NOW GOING TO START WORKING AS ONE BECAUSE I HAVE TWO CHILDREN AND I CAN NOT FIND A JOB. I ACTUALLY MANAGED A DOCTORS OFFICE AND I HAVE BARTENDED AND WAITED TABLES I HAVE SOME COLLEGE (HAD TO PUT THAT ON HOLD BECAUSE I RAN OUT OF FUNDS) AND I CANT GET A JOB AT MCDONALDS I AM TO OVER QUALIFIED I HAVE APPLIED TO EVERY JOB EVERYWHERE I CAN NOT EVEN GET AN INTERVIEW SO HERE I AM NOW …… SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO. IT IS BETTER TO STRIP THAN TO LET YOUR KIDS STARVE AND GO WITH OUT…. I BLAME MY PARENTS LOL

Hi…I am 28 with three girls and a single mom. I am a stripper 4 days out of the week. I dance because dancing is my passion and also cause I’m struggling. I want to be quit my hospital job because I’m tired of dealing with geriatrics and drug seeking patients. I want more time with my kids during the day. I am a stripper,and i hate it and i’v always hated it.I got into it when i was 18 to run from an ex and my family that shoved there
responsibility of me being there responsibility onto my ex and they have no money to help me . i am now 25 and my husband is 26I am not like the average stripper,I truly believe in God and always have .I don’t drink,and iv never smoked or even tried any drugs.I also don’t care to have more and more money.Why i am a stripper still is because no matter what i try to do nothing completely pays for all the bad luck of things that happen in my life,like money issues ,getting badly sick or even dental over costing ect the list goes on forever. like jobs not paying anything but min wage or even finding a job and bad luck stuff like car accidents, family money isues and my husband getting laid of or only finding temp jobs .My wonderful husband has never been to a strip club before and whom waited for marriage etc hates me stripping.however he has bad luck with making money and we always scrape to get by.He trys and looks daily to find a job that pays the bills so i don’t have to continue stripping.He has almost got a bachelors and is very smart but we seem to have very bad luck or energy around us ect.I’d do anything to get away from it.it makes me mental and makes me cry every day i have to go.I also don’t have a degree,because my parents never cosigned for school and when i got old enough to not have to use my parents to cosign ,for some reason i cant get financing.Lots of reasons stripping makes me mental- drugs,alcohol,men of all kinds trying to grab you ,lick you bite you,proposition you,stock you ,talk down to you like your worth nothing ,hearing nasty guys talk about how they want to use you in the most worst ways,i cant ever have children because i am the bread winner right now and cant work with a pregnant belly,girl drama is bad especially when you have rumors that ant true,the girls get vicious.i dont make extra money and i cant ,i can only bare it enough to make enough to get by .I would do anything in the world to be able to have a normal life and have children with my husband.If anyone can ever even help by hiring my husband or anything ! Just because you don’t trust someone doesn’t mean they aren’t trustworthy. When you judge someone based on your moral compass without hearing what they have to say, you are prejudiced without reason… You think they are defined by stripping (assumption) when you are defined by your prejudice. Think and reason… don’t assume your feelings have anything to do with logic. Sigh….

That first sentence is what shows you aren’t actually thinking… You might think it is degrading because you are judging them… if your argument is that it is wrong because it is wrong, well… there us no logic there… only an emotion fed by …?

Why does stripping degrade them? Do you feel degraded when you are naked? That feeling is a social brainwashing… If the viewer thinks less of someone because of a job, doesn’t that only say something about the person judging a person by their job? Isn’t the prejudice shown by some towards others that do things the viewer finds offensive really what is degrading?

Ah… you assume there is something wrong with their choice. What assumptions are you bringing to the table? Just because it doesn’t meet your moral-compass job choices doesn’t mean it is wrong or degrading. The views about the women you imply are existing might only be shared by the viewers… oh, and by you.

Some of us work as strippers because we have no other option. I live in Michigan and have been applying to decent jobs with no luck. I have been struggling to afford the basic necessities for my daughter and I, and put myself through college. I am a single mom. I do not have any help or support from anyone. When I was with my ex he controlled and isolated me from everyone. I am a survivalist. My daughter and I have lived on peoples’ couches, spare bedrooms, and even in motels. I wish I could find a decent, respectable job.

I know strippers & have been to their clubs. One in particular told me she had a issue with a customer not paying because he got to drunk (so it was said) & had to be escorted out. The club manager & bouncers blamed her for drugging the guy. Then I went to the club with her just because she said she could get us a table & free drinks. We get there & the management treated her like sh-t & she had to find a table & we had to pay for the drinks. I say all this to say that there is no respect on any level in the game. Customers look at you as meat and & management look at your as hoes who come a dime a dozen.

If you strip then don’t ask me to respect you when your doing something disrespectful & degrading to yourself. Your walkin around a club half naked or naked around weirdos with sex on the brain throwing dirty dollars at you. A real WOMAN will find a way to pay bills & keep her self respect & dignity.

At first I thought I would feel “dirty and worthless” but I don’t. Its just a job, and I do what I gotta do proffessionally. Don’t take your work home with you.. Its just another job to me, like anything else. I like the attention. I have fun doing it. Poledancing is an art.. Its fun, and a great workout! Maybe a lot of the girls do have issues.. but so do many other people in many other professions. We are ALL people just trying to get by. be kind to each other. I love the money, who doesn’t, but I’m not money hungry, just professional. I appreciate my customers, and my coworkers.

I strip because I can’t find a job doing anything else. I have a medical assisting degree and some college credits. I have applied everywhere including wal mart and mcdonalds with no luck. Temp agencies have no accounts because the economy is so bad. I am signed up with all of them in my city.I don’t want to be a dancer, I do it because I have no other option. Medical assisting jobs are few and far between. They only want people with experience. I have a child to feed and bills to pay. If welfare was an option I would take it. I can only get benefits if I agree to quit my job and go to their work school, which is basically working for a company full time for $300 dollars a month , food stamps and health care. I can’t afford to do that. Going back to school is not an option for me. The only thing that is allowing me to survive is stripping. Until I can find a full time job,which seems to be hopelessly impossible these days, stripping is the only thing preventing me from being homeless. And stripping is not great money all the time. It’s feast or famine. Men are struggling with money lately and can’t afford to go to clubs like before the economy went to HELL. I have friend with a nursing degree who is in the same boat as I am. We feel like we wasted our time and money working so hard to get through school to graduate with no jobs available. We aren’t the only ones, you would be surprised how many strippers have degrees. Given the choice, I would not be stripping. At this time, I don’t have a choice.

we are friends with a dad whose daughter strips. We are trying to get her out of it, she is filled with shame and cannot look me in the eye when she comes over. The poor kid is losing self respect each and every night she goes up on stage. I feel for her and am hoping we can help her get out of it. I don’t even want to think about how she’ll feel about herself when she hits 30 something. How will her resume look then? What kind of job will she get then? Think about this, what if it were your daughter on stage?
