“I’m with the President on this one, and I think this among a number of issues demonstrates the difference between himself, the party, various conservative ideologues and the hoi polloi of the Right. So let me say it straight out, all of the objections to the sale of P&O to Dubai Ports is reactionary bigotry hiding behind a mask of security consciousness.” (Michael D. Cobb Bowen–more)
Finding and losing history
History found Records of freed Va. slaves placed online History possibly lost (suburbanchicagonews.com) "A property once covered in unique objets d'art and so renowned even the Smithsonian Institution took notice now is slated for demolition. Kane County officials this week took further steps toward tearing down the long-abandoned African-American Heritage Museum and Black Veterans Archives in Aurora Township by approving an application to the Circuit Court for demolition of 'dangerous and/or unsafe building.' 'This is the very beginning stage' of the demolition process, said Mark VanKerkhoff of the county's Development Department. It could be three to four months before the building actually is torn down, ...

LA the hard way
When Antonio Villaraigosa ran for Mayor of Los Angeles a few years ago, most of his platform was based on the fact that he would be the first Hispanic Mayor in 133 years. Question his record beyond the historical narrative and suddenly you found yourself framed as one of "those people" who dislike all Hispanics. Well guess what I saw in the store the other day? That's right! The one time golden child for the Left who was gonna fix Los Angeles just by showing up is now being called a "failure" by a major publication. Just back in 2006, the ...
Why the rush to make Michael Jackson a “Christian”
On the days following the death of Michael Jackson, I read from two sources so-called accounts from Christians that Michael Jackson was in fact a Christian. Now I found the claim quite interesting because I know that MJ had also claimed to be a Muslim, Jehovah Witness and I believe that he also embraced Judaism to some extent. But how was it that all of a sudden folks were claiming that MJ was actually a Christian. Here was the first claim I came across. David Pack for purposedriven.com (The article was removed or moved to another link. But here is the ...
It begins here
Okay, all the hatin' over the BET Awards show is really getting silly. Don't like BET? Then work on changing the culture FIRST. If you can change the culture, you will decrease demand for what you feel misrepresents Black folks. Do it the other way around, and more "BETs" will pop up. Need an example? Some of y'all may remember back in the day when local churches would stage protests in front of local porn shops. Did they manage to get a few of them shut down? Sure did. But how did the porn industry respond to meet demand? They moved ...

My goodness Duane here you go again.
Why are you be distracted with this nonsense about Bigotry?
Are you aware that just a few months back, China was stopped from purchasing a US engery company Unocal. The company, Cnooc, was owned by the Chinese government, and the issue raised against the sale was national security. No one called it bigotry when China was involved and national security was the reason.
Take off your blinders and look at what is truly happening here. America is being sold off by capitalists of which Bush is one of the biggest. He and his cronies do not want anything interferring with the transactions of multiconglomerates to buy and purchase anything globally.
So the issue here is TRADE and more importantly unfettered global capitalism.
This UAE group is a major investor in the Carlye group to the tune of 6 billion and one of the major shareholders in Carlye group is the Bush family (might as well call them a cartel) Bush is backing this deal because it is personally profitable for him to do so.
The US was built on capitalism and that is how it is going to fall as well. Capitalists, are selling off the basic infrastructure of America, banks, mfgring both textile and auto, transportaion, shipping are all being purchased by foreign companies
What is happening here is our government is being bankrolled by foreign money. China and the Saudi’s are buying up most our money and that is contributing to our whopping trade and budget deficits.
So bigotry is the red herring to blind ppl who are easily distracted to what is going on.
Although, I do not agree with much that he says, on this, Pat Buchanan was right about the dynamics of free trade.
America is losing the trade game and badly.
If you agree with Bush on this why stop with ports, since it is a global economy we might as well:
Turn the Federal Reserve over to the Chinesse, they”ll go out of their way to protect the billions of dollars they’ve invested in the US economy
or how about
Immigration Enforcement, let’s outsource it to the government of Mexico. No one understands our border better than the Mexicans
or what about
Congress, let’s outsource it to the Canadian Parliament. They”ve found a way to have national health insurance and balance the budget
last but not least
The White House
turn it over to the Baptists, they’re running the place anyway
