If the black community has “black leaders”, who are the “white leaders”?

Asian Leaders?

Hispanic Leaders?

Jewish Leaders?

Mulatto Leaders?

What if the news went something like this…

“The execution moratorium is a top priority for many Asian-American leaders…”

or this…

“Prominent Hispanic American leaders have joined Dr. Poussaint in asking all school boards and all state legislatures to ban school corporal punishment immediately. “

how about this?

“White American leaders from around New York State came to Washington DC today at the invitation of US Senator Chuck Schumer…”

and for my favorite, this…

“Prominent Mulatto American leaders representing a broad coalition of organizations are urging members of Mulatto communities across the country to join the…”

These are real headlines with the word “African” taken out of them.

Just weird and sad

In my opinion, there are no true “Black Leaders”. Most so-called “Black Leaders” are

puppeteered by local white officials to do things in their best interests, not ours. Until

some drastic changes are made in the black community and the way we treat each

other, it will always be this way.

So, do you complain when conservatives use the term?

How about it when they apply it to, ohhhh, Jesse Lee Peterson?

  3. Keith Says:

There are people I admire and listen closely to whenever they speak, and I simply don’t consider their race, rather it is their words and ideas that mean something to me.

I greatly admire Ravi Zacharias, but I don’t consider him a great Christian leader from India, just a great Christian mind.

I do not care for Jesse Jackson. It has nothing to do with his skin color but his ideas.

I have to wonder, is it the people of America who consider this man or that man to be a ‘black-leader’, this man or that man to be a ‘hispanic leader’, or is it the media who gives us this labels?

Most, not all, persons I know are concerned with the content of a persons expressed ideas and not their heritage or their skin color.

    Keith,

I like Ravi Zacharias as well. Excellent teacher!! I try to listen to him everytime I get the chance. I had a chance to see him at Georgia Tech some years back.

Have you noticed that race has been the keyword for this week? Very sad indeed
