This Week’s Palestinian Authority Sermon: We (Muslims) Will Rule America; Israel is a Cancer; Jews are a Virus Resembling AIDS; Muslims Will Finish Them Off
“We have ruled the world before, and by Allah, the day will come when we will rule the entire world again. The day will come when we will rule America. The day will come when we will rule Britain and the entire world – except for the Jews. The Jews will not enjoy a life of tranquility under our rule, because they are treacherous by nature, as they have been throughout history. The day will come when everything will be relived of the Jews – even the stones and trees which were harmed by them. Listen to the Prophet Muhammad, who tells you about the evil end that awaits Jews. The stones and trees will want the Muslims to finish off every Jew.” (more)

Most Americans are clueless when it comes to understanding Islamic culture as it is communicated through their own media. We are left at the mercy of pundits who will twist and turn the facts of this “unknown” world for us eliminating our need to search the information ourselves. This site should serve as a great tool in gaining that understanding.

So far, I have deleted 2 comments on this topic for not staying on point. In the “comments” portion of this posting I listed some general guidelines for those who wish to contribute their thoughts. The reason for such guidelines is due to the sensitive nature of this topic and the fact that emotions (as always) take us all around the issue at hand. Religion is very near and dear to many people and many who consider themselves “religious” find it oftentimes offensive when genuine questions are asked. If you choose to add your comments, please stick to the guidelines and let me add–please do not draw similarities to Christianity. If you wish to poke holes in the Christian faith, no problem–just not with this post. You do not defend or justify something by finding fault in another. If you do not agree with or understand that last sentence, please do not bother with a response.

“But I thought Islam was a peaceful religion…”
I thought the same thing about Christianity. Boy was I fooled.

***READ CAREFULLY!!!!
Sigh! Okay, this is how we are going to do this. Please specifically explain your claim that MODERN Christianity reflects the same kind of hate rhetoric (where Christians have made the statement that it is their goal to kill all Muslims). Please do not generalize with the typical “look at the war in Iraq” response. America is not a Christian nation (this is a point that I have made on this site several times in the past). Please provide specific quotations from well known Christians that have called for the murder of those of the Muslim faith (I want to see actual text–not hearsay). I am making the distinction between Muslims and terrorist, so I expect for you to do the same in your response. I am fully aware that all Muslims do not share this extreme belief, however, I have yet to see ANY leader from the Muslim world IN THE MIDDLE EAST take any meaningful steps to eradicate this type of activity. Also in your response, please justify the current brutal killings of the people in Dafar (BLACK PEOPLE) being committed at the hand of Muslims IN THE NAME OF ALLAH and the fact that once again leaders in the Muslim world have done very little to nothing to stop the destruction of the African people.
If you deflect this request in any way in your response, your comment will be immediately deleted. This site will not serve as pulpit for anyone who cannot substantiate an accusation. This is a no-no-nonsense site ran by a no-nonsense individual.
P.S. : If you are not of the Muslim faith, please do not respond to this. You are not their representative.

Gee, you mean there are Muslim Extremists too?? Wow, whodathunk? Just because some claiming to be Muslim feel this way, doesn’t mean they all do.

I’m not sure the MEMRI quote is from a well known Muslim cleric. The author is an employee of the Palestinan Authority. This is a group with an agenda.
There are kooks in all religions (we all know only too well!). I think the MEMRI translation is from one of the Islamic ones.
I will also note that MEMRI has an agenda and has been known to translate quotes from the more radical elements in the Middle East.
I do review the MEMRI site but bounce it’s translations off another site (Abu Aardvark).

Your point is well taken here, but it still brings me to the point I raised above: How many Muslim leaders who reside in the middle east (not the PR guys that live in the US) are taking active steps (beyond the mere public statement) to eradicate (or at least separate themselves from) this wing of their religion? Thousands of innocent people in the middle east have died at the hand of these “cooks” and all they can do is blame America.

You answered your question in your post. Becuase we are at the mercy of others for translating the news articles, we cannot know.
Think of it in this way: what would have happened in Afghanistan and Pakistan if the NewsWeek article about the Koran pages in the toilet wasn’t translated?

JRI,
I anxiously await your answer to Duanes challange.
EG, MERMI has been translating the PA media for sometime now and has never serously been challanged for it’s translations.
They have also met and answered every challange to come their way.
MERMI translates from the radicals, because that is who is in the fore front.
They translated Yasser, I considered him a radical, the Palestinians did not.
He was their leader, he was who they looked to.
The Palestinians watch PA TV, that is why MERMI translates their Friday sermons so that the rest of the world might know what the PA is allowing.
That is why they tramslate the PA’s school books, so that the rest of the world knows what Palestinian children are being taught.
While they whisper in out ear, “peace”, they shout blood filled hate from their Masques, from their TV and radio show and teach hate in their text.
I know you are not trashing MERMI, but to say they try to seek out the radicals is misleading.
The PA is mainstream in that part of the world.
Hammas, Saddam, Alaqsa Entifada… etc.
Radical to us, main stream and normal to the Mid-East.
May 19th, 2005 at 7:04 pm
So MEMRI is translating the PA which is considered mainstream to the palestinians. Would the PA pose to represent mainstream Muslim thought or Middle East thought?

Although not a Christian leader, Ann Coulter has repeatedly said we should nuke the Middle East to rid it of radical Islam.
She does have a cult following.
May 19th, 2005 at 8:59 pm
Does the PA represent the mainstream Muslim throughout the Mid-East…?
I cannot think of any evidence that would demonstrate that they are any more radical than most Muslims in the Mid-East.
I’ve not seen many protests against the likes of Ossama, or protests gainst the educational tactics of the PA coming from the Mid-East.
So, if those who we would consider to be radical are not among the main-stream Muslims then shouldn’t those who are main-stream let us know this somehow?
Saddly, I doubt that they do not protest the terrorist because of fear. They do not protest because they are in agreement with the terrorists.
MERMI is not misrepresenting anything in their translations. They are simply informing us.
Ann Coulter, I enjoy her to an extent. That is not to say she hasn’t gone a tad too far at times.
However, it is not a regular practice with her. While threats and violence and brainwashing are a regular practice with the PA.

I was attempting to demostrate that the PA represents some level of Mid-East sentiments but not Muslim sentiments. For example, PA’s rhetoric does not resound in Indonesia, the world’s largest Muslim country. Nor would it represent the voice of Afghanistan and Pakistan Muslims.
We in America attempt to plug the word ‘Islam’ into sentences where ‘Mid-East’ belongs. That was my argument with the post. The sentiments presented by the MEMRI article are Mid-East Muslims but not all Muslims. Just like Christianity, Islam is much too fractured to have a catholic (as in universal) voice.

Muslim “radicals” are the moderate ones. Mainstream sentiment is one of genocidal hate towrd Jews and among Arabs, it is one of racial superiority over non-Arab Africans and Caucasians.
Dhimmitude is the BEST a non-Arab can hope for under their dominion – even if he willingly converts to Islam.
The religious/cultural hypersensitivity and double standard we see is a manifestation of this arrogance.
While they slaughter and desecrate, they demand that everyone walk on eggshells for them.
This should be kept in mind when hearing the wailing of their sympathizers over a little humiliation or hearsay of disrespect.
You will not find any muslim clerics of import condemning terrorists or their culture of hate because they are the ones that inspire the terrorists in the 1st place.
Islam does not mean peace.
It means submission (or death).
History bears this fact out.
So does the present.
